Exhibition Identity. Promotional Materials.

Client Goals

“You Look Like You” is a powerful photography exhibition by Michael Sreenan, inspired by his personal journey of recovering from a brain injury. The series captures the liminal state of recovery—where the past is changed, and the future remains uncertain. Mike approached us to create branding and promotional materials that would be accessible, engaging, and true to the spirit of his work. Our challenge was to design materials that complemented the emotional depth of the exhibition while ensuring they were easy to navigate and visually appealing.

GOAL 1

A brand identity that embodied the themes of transformation and recovery presented in his work.

GOAL 2

Promotional materials that were clear and accessible, making the exhibition inviting and understandable for a diverse audience.

GOAL 3

Thoughtful design pieces, such as a booklet, light boxes, and posters, that would elevate the exhibition experience and captivate visitors.

Our Solution

We collaborated with Michael to develop a cohesive visual identity and a suite of promotional materials that would reflect the exhibition’s themes and be easy for audiences to engage with.

Sensitive and Impactful Branding

We created a brand/logo that encapsulated the exhibition’s exploration of identity and change. The design was kept minimal and striking to convey the raw and contemplative nature of the work.

Accessible Promotional Materials

To ensure the materials were easy to take in, we designed a booklet that guided visitors through the exhibition in a clear and digestible format. The light boxes and posters were crafted to highlight key visuals from the series, drawing in passersby while maintaining an elegant simplicity.

Consistent Visual Language

Every element, from typography to color palette, was chosen to enhance the narrative of recovery and self-discovery. The design aimed to evoke curiosity while providing a sense of comfort and approachability.

Key Outcomes

A visually compelling and cohesive set of materials that drew attention to Michael’s work while respecting its depth and sensitivity.

An accessible and engaging exhibition experience that allowed visitors to connect with the themes of the body of work.

A professional brand identity that supported Michael’s vision and helped make the exhibition a memorable and impactful experience.
